IRONMAN Lanzarote is one of the longest-standing races in Europe. A Unesco biosphere reserve, Lanzarote is a captivating island with 300 volcanic cones. Stark landscapes reminiscent of the black lava fields of Kona are intermingled with tropical beachside scenes.

This race offers qualifying slots to the IRONMAN World Championship 2022 in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii.

Dalesman Triathlon Ripon – Yorkshire Cycling

It’s been a long time coming but TriHard are finally hosting a Full Distance Triathlon. Those are the same distances as the Kona Ironman race, but the weather will likely be a bit cooler and the route is definitely more interesting.

Based at Ripon racecourse with full camping and catering facilities and with routes that will give you a proper flavour of what the beautiful Yorkshire Dales has to offer.

Full Distance 2.4 mile swim – 112 mile bike – 26.22 mile run
Half Distance 1.2 mile swim – 56 mile bike – 13.11 mile run
Quarter Distance 0.6 mile swim – 28 mile bike – 6.6 mile run

Challenge Davos combines the internationally orientated middle distance race of Challenge Family with the national triathlon series TRI Circuit, which offers a range of short distance events for all ages. Adding to this, a night run on Friday: a fun event for friends and family and can be done alone or in a team of three

Challenge Lisboa, Triathlon – Cycling Portugal

Lisboa is one of the most popular cities in Europe. CHALLENGELISBOA middle-distance triathlon takes place in Parque das Nações. The park is striking contemporary architecture on the riverfront and is just 3 km from Lisbon’s international airport. Next to that, it is served by public transportation, subway, buses, taxis. The race venue is loaded with cools contemporary restaurants, night life, great for a morning jog and to practice all kinds of sports.

About the race
An idyllic swim venue, a bike course that features a freeway completely closed to traffic, a run course that’s flat and alongside the famous Tagu river, a city with a history that’s centuries old and the great portuguese hospitality are just a few of the highlights this event has to offer. It will be host to the CHALLENGEFAMILY Corporate World Cup, and will be offering pro and age-group slots for THECHAMPIONSHIP.

First, the 2 lap swim takes place at the beautiful Rossio dos Olivais, next to the famous Lisbon Oceanarium, on calm waters.

Next, the 4 lap bike course takes the athletes out of Parque das Nações and into the IC22 freeway, which will be completely closed to traffic. With ample space for everyone and the Tagus river as a backdrop, this is a mostly flat course, with a small hill climb just before turning around and heading back into town.

Finally, the 4 lap run is completely flat and alongside the Tagus river, with both paved and off-road sections.

Gran Canaria is the third-largest island in the Canaries’ archipelago, but accounts for almost half the population and is a continent in miniature, with a dramatic variation of terrain, ranging from the green and leafy north to the mountainous interior and desert south. The centre has dramatic mountains while contrasting with these unspoiled peaks and valleys is a rugged coastline interspersed with white sandy beaches.

The course of the middle distance triathlon will be challenging and diverse, with temperatures going from 25 degrees at beach level to 10C at 1,500 meters above sea level. The landscape is unique, varied and technical, where lovers of a good honest course will shine!

Challenge Riccione, Triathlon Italy – Italia Cycling

Riccione “The Green Pearl” is an ideal place for a holiday as well as a race. It is this all-inclusive character, combined with the potential for an outstanding middle distance course, which led Challenge Family to make Challenge Riccione a reality.

In keeping with Challenge’s focus on athlete experience, the Challenge Riccione course is designed to include the best of this spectacular region and promises to be one of the most cultural middle distance courses in the world.

The course
Starting in the seaside resort of Riccione, the warm waters of the Adriatic Sea will host the 1.9km swim following which the 90km bike course will head high into the hills surrounding Rimini along roads built by the great Roman emperors.

Travelling through the Emilia Romagna Apennines, an area renowned for its stunning landscapes and many fortresses and castles, the course visits the historic towns of Coriano, Montegrimano, Monte Cerignone and Montescudo before heading back down to the Riviera. The 21km run is a three-lap course along Riccione’s famous promenade, lined with bars, shops and restaurants and a crowd of thousands before finishing in the heart of Riccione Terme.

Challenge Madrid, Triathlon – Espania Cycling

Welcome to Challenge Madrid Full Distance Triathlon, the triathlon of the capital of Spain and condemned to be a triathlon classic in Europe. Full distance triathlon with 3,800m of swimming, 180 km of cycling and 42,195 km of running.

In swimming race, you will have the chance to swim at a spectacular reservoir like a swimming pool with calm waters and spectacular views to the “Sierra Madrileña” at 1,000 meters of altitude.

The cycling circuit is a mountain course that crowns the most representative peaks of the Madrid mountain range like Canencia, Morcuera and Cotos providing an altitude difference of 2,650 meters and finishing in the center of Madrid.

Finally, when you are running you will discover the Madrid Rio, a 4 x 10 km in the crossing river of Madrid to end in a 2,195 km in the center of Madrid discovering the warmth of the many spectators along the route to arrive at the Puerta del Sol and finish your Challenge Madrid Full Distance triathlon in the city center of Madrid and the Kilometer 0 of Spain, where all starts and where you will find the Finisher Experience, where, apart from finding everything for your care, you can try Spanish ham and Manolitos, typical food of Madrid. Skoda Challenge Geraardsbergen, Triathlon – Belgium Cycling

RACE ON ONE OF WORLD CYCLING’S MOST FAMOUS MONUMENTS – MUUR VAN GERAARDSBERGEN.

The 1.9km swim takes place in a unique lake-to-lake course with a rolling beach start. The 90km cycle leg is a mix of rolling roads through quiet rural areas and spectator hotspots with true Flemisch hills. The double passage over the “MUUR” will no doubt test the legs, but will be one of the most unforgettable experiences in all of triathlon. The 21.1km run will take athletes through the main city square surrounded by ancient heritage buildings, through City Abbey Park before reaching the incredible finish line located between the Negotic Town Hall and Old Basilic Church.

For international visitors, Geraardsbergen offers plenty for athletes and their families. Geraardsbergen’s central position in Belgium makes a must-do trip to Bruge or Ghent a breeze and there are lots of family activities in the nearby “Gavers” area.

For those food and wine lovers and athletes who want to celebrate after the race there’s plethora of options available. Be overwhelmed by the unique taste of the local specialty de Mattentaart or uncover the endless range of Belgian beers, including many local brewers. For those wanting an extended stay after the race athletes can relax in the many B&B’s found spread throughout the surrounding countryside.

Part of Lanzarote Cycling Bike Week – 7 Day Triathlon Fitness Holiday

It is a full week long cycling, swimming and running event on Lanzarote. In its tenth year anniversary edition. Special moments and unforgettable editions with routes that go through the island where fun is guaranteed kilometre after kilometre.

Cancelled In 2021 after the global pandemic we now make 2022 an even bigger and better event for cyclists and triathletes, together. A long path where we have created our landmark and got national and international recognition. We have cycled together setting the pace and reaching every target. The island is our host and this dream moves us on the calendar toward this unique event.

February means Lanzarote Bike Week and from the 26th to the 5th March we will feel and be infected by the good weather, the atmosphere and the expectation that always generates a new opportunity to know and discover the island on two wheels.
